Unit Code:
HLTAID009 - Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation
This unit will develop your understanding and knowledge required to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in line with the Australia Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines.
Learning Outcomes:
Upon completion of this course you will be able to:
- Respond to emergency situations by assessing risk.
- Perform CPR in accordance with ARC guidelines.
- Understand and apply automated external defibrillator (AED) in accordance with manufacturer guidelines.
- Direct and manage safety for self, bystanders and the injured casualty
- Ensure privacy and confidentiality of information in relation to statutory and organisational policies.
- Complete relevant required documentation and effectively communicate emergency situation to emergency services.
