UETDRAI001 - Inspect and test poles at and below ground level
This unit will develop your understanding and knowledge for inspecting and testing poles at and below ground level to assess their condition in accordance with workplace and safety requirements.
Learning Outcomes:
Upon completion of this course you will be able to:
- Understand and apply relevant legislation, regulations, standards, codes of practice and organisational workplace requirements for Inspecting and Testing poles in the Electrical Supply Industry (ESI)
- Identify and assess hazards relating to Poles in the Electrical Supply Industry
- Demonstrate use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Test poles safely using a variety of testing methods (sounding, drilling, resistance, ultrasonic/acoustic, radiography, stress wave, dynamic (vibration), mechanical and/or electromagnetic field)
- Deal with unplanned events
- Organise and complete relevant work permits/approval
